Ugh. Not again.

Cashel, don't take any of this the wrong way. Please. I still think you're one of the reasons people come to this site, because you're one of the few who is willing to tirelessly start up discussion after discussion and keep these forums alive.

That said, Cashel, you're really reaching now. I mean, badgering people for not reviewing films? Maybe they don't have anything to say! At any rate, you're not accomplishing anything going about it this way. My advice: Lead by quiet example and keep posting reviews yourself.

But, then again, I shouldn't be so hard on complainers and complaining. Complaining is a societal good. I mean, think of the things it accomplishes:

1. It solves the problem. In fact, nothing immediately irradicates problems like complaining.
2. It makes the complainer much less angry. Dwelling on your gripe and meticulously documenting its every nettling detail doesn't make you more peeved, no, instead, I find that it really helps you cool down.
3. Everybody loves to hear you whine. What's a more beautiful sound? I can't think of one. Whining brightens my day like the singing of a mockingbird.
4. Complaining produces allies. I can't think of a better way to bring people to your way of thinking than to moan about how wrong they are.
5. Complaining is productive. It's also good for your overall bodily health. Nothing says, "I'm getting stuff done and adding vivacious years to my life" like saying "Whaaaaaannnnnnn."

I'm sure there's more stuff it does. I can't say a word against it, though if I did, my complaining about complaining would probably make the world an even BETTER place!

Note: If you don't get sarcasm, you shouldn't have even started reading this post, or any other Tambora posts for that matter.

Tambora..I always enjoy reading any of your writings. You always communicate with honesty and directness. My best and worst characteristic is that I hate lethargy and I combat it by annoying lethargic people. Too many people in the affluent world are complacent, self-satisfied and over-fed. In other words, they are prigs and deserve all they get. They are also, too often mean and sly, so if I annoy them, so be it. My best wishes to you, Tambora and have a happy day. NOTE in these posts, I have not directed crticism at any named individuals, any religion, form of politics, race or nationality. There is no slyness, mean or nasty because that is not my character.

Forum: opensource_movies Subject: Tambora::::Dissent is the essential element of USA democracy

Every day I read newspapers, watch tv,listen to radio, surf the web and get many, many opinions that I find unacceptable. I also express opinions that others do not like. This is called Dissent and has a noble history in America. Any suggestion that a person should cease or moderate opinions because they upset others is unthinkable.

This is so, so true. Fortunately, another element of "USA democracy" is refusing to listen to people you don't agree with. I applaud you for being so bold to continue your dissent. Keep up the good work practicing USA democracy down there in Adelaide.

I guess it's been a while since I've posted. Perhaps I should return. I would if I didn't have so much to do in college. Oh, well.
